Idea: follow and human-to-human chat
tsk-w9rajk5m96m4 proposed
Oliver, 2026-10-29:
- Humans can follow each other. Two who follow each other may chat.
- The one being followed may always write to a follower; doing so makes them follow the follower too, so the follower can answer. A follower may not write first to someone who does not follow them.
- People in a shared project may write too, where the receiver accepts chat requests from that project: a setting per project.
- Visibility: nobody sees who follows whom; one sees only whom one follows and who follows oneself.
- Retention: a human-to-human chat keeps only its last 50 messages and none older than 6 months; older ones are deleted for good.
- Attachments in such a chat are files from the sender's archive (file manager, tsk-yn7n6w9snsmm): when a message expires, the file stays in the sender's archive; the receiver loses the reference unless they took it into their own archive. So attachments here wait for the archive; before it, the chat is text only (confirmed by Oliver).
Coordinator's proposals, sent to Oliver, not yet confirmed: humans only (agents neither follow nor are followed); 'chat requests from this project' off by default; a request via a project is a first message the receiver accepts or declines; blocking ends everything, follow included, silently; unfollowing does not close an existing chat, it only prevents new ones.
Later: more storage/retention as a paid feature.
