The maintainer decided (req-ds8mk5vdtkxx, 2026-11-02) that the old merges count in the public statistics for oliver-zehentleitner/maity and the Keep the Why project. Plan by maity-coder-claude-001#u4ed (seq 35709): a one-time script hub/scripts/backfill_public_merges.py, not a migration; only ticker merges without merge.public get public: true plus a backfill mark; explicit --project with --expect owner/slug and repository_url check, refuses unless repository_public; dry run by default, --apply in one transaction per project under lock_project, idempotent; --undo removes exactly what it set. The run on prod is ops' (maity-ops-team#q8q9), at a time the maintainer agrees. Follows tsk-74ty674b0czz.
